If you are looking for a challenge on a mountain bike, a marked track to the Zinken awaits.

The route starts in Hallein on the Pernerinsel (parking lot) and leads past the church on the right uphill to the Winterstall (KM 3.3). Turn left following along the parking lot of the Zinkenlifte towards Gmerk (KM 4.8). Here you have the option to take the double chairlift to the top of the Zinkenkogel.

Continue uphill towards Stocker at KM 6.5 you can branch-off to Route 1 Gschwandt (4.3 km downhill) - at KM 6.8 turn off for Route 2 (400 m) or after 200 m then turn for Route 3 Truckentannalm (1.8 km) - at the junction turn to the right - following a flat passage - from KM 8.0 at the junction turn left follow the path steeply uphill - along the gravel road to the mountain station Zinkenkogel. Here, the mountain restaurant "Zinkenstüberl" and its amazing terrace offer a breathtaking view of the Salzachtal and the surrounding mountains as well as food and drinks.

To get back to the valley you can follow along the same route or you whiz down via the Wichtelwanderweg towards the Roßfeld toll booth. Following along the paved Roßfeldstraße for a few kilometers. Turn right towards Bad Dürrnberg and follow the main road straight to the starting point on the Pernerinsel.
